Ahalisha & Josue

It started at church. While studying Bioarchaeology at UWF, Ahalisha was looking for a church away from home. Her uncle recommended a church pastored by a family dear to his heart. On Easter Sunday, she visited for the first time—and their lives would change forever. After the service, Josue’s family invited her to lunch. As they were leaving the restaurant, Ahalisha tripped and quite literally fell into Josue’s arms. It was the first of many times he would be there to catch her.

What began as a platonic friendship slowly blossomed into something deeper. Though distance separated them—Ahalisha in Puerto Rico and Josue in Florida—their feelings grew beyond friendship with every prayer shared and every moment spent together. On March 4, 2024, they officially became a couple, finding joy in the simple things: baking together, watching movies, and simply enjoying each other’s presence.

The greatest surprise came on October 12, 2025. At the breathtaking Hacienda Muñoz in Puerto Rico, Josue asked her to be his forever. He had perfectly planned the moment, ensuring Ahalisha’s family and closest friends were there to witness the joy. While Josue’s family cheered them on from Florida, the day was a beautiful testament to the bridge they had built from across the ocean and between two hearts.
